Wow what a rack, I love the colours. Most looks like a halo around the antlers.

Thanks Gary, Its actually not a halo just rim light on the soft velvet. Filtered afternoon light along the river. Just double checked the nef to be sure as I didn't have to do much sharpening at all.

Well taken pict. Critique: Elk are magnicant creatures. I would have taken this picture also, but would have tried to wait until his head was high to take another. A high head adds to the granduer of the beast.

Hi Todd,
I agree with Rob's statement about the head being up rather than down. I do like the angle of the antlers you've captured as it really shows off their size. I might clone out the stick he's looking at although it makes me wonder what he finds so fascinating about it.

Thanks for the comments, I was able to spend some time with this guy and have quite a few images with both the 70-200 and in tighter with 300 2.8.

Lovely colors here Todd. It's a busy image but thats where they are at times. Not crazy about the OOF FG trees coming into the image.
