It takes just the right light to get decent detail in Ravens. This one chose a nice BG to fly against; an early Christmas present for me!

Wow, this has it all; ha, wing position, wonderful light with great detail in the blacks and I really like that background as it gives the image a somber feel...I'm thinking Poe could have used it as the accompanying illustration for his Raven work:cheers:

Doug, good flying posture, and yes, its all about the light. I do like the exposure and detail, and an interesting texture to the BG. Very well captured.

Goug, terrific blacks and perfct bird angle. Nice pop from that beautiful BG. a little room at bottom will help, won't it?

Hi Doug , you are spot on with the light and captured the detail of what can be a dull coloured bird beautifully. Like the eye contact and those tucked up feet. Nice background with complimentary blue touches in the reflection.

This really is a super shot Doug. Great exposure and details in the blacks. I have still yet to get a good Raven shot, let alone an in flight one.

You really nailed this one Doug. And to capture this species in flight with wings in perfect position must have been very satisfying! But the texture of the birds feathers is what really grabs me. I can't think of anything more I would want. Even the curled up toes help to create that tension that makes you want to keep looking. Beautiful.

Edgar Allen Poe would be delighted with this image. It is a beautiful capture.
