Image created yesterday at mid day in Maine while waiting for a raft of Harlequin ducks to come into range...which never materialized.

Nikon D300s, 600VR, TC17EII, ISO 640, f7.1, 1/2000, NearuniWB , CW metering. +.3 EV applied.

Jim:

Glad you got some other opportunities, and I think you did very well with this one.

Sharp, nice exposure, good landing pose, I like the inclusion of the landing zone.

And of course the flounder takes the technically fine image up a couple of notches in interest.

Cheers

Randy

Ditto on Jims comment, nice sharp, well composed image.. I'd even like to see what this would look like as a vertical...TFS

I tried it as a vertical but for my eyes, the wingspread is to wide and the crop looked too square.

Apart from the comp which I find has too much room at left, I'm really enjoying this image for the landing gear down and awesome prey in the bill, Very cool, and perfect techs. Unless going for a more squarish comp this is a difficult one to crop if wanting to include the landing pad (which I don't blame you for!!)

Jim, I am liking your choice of subject placement. Beautiful whites, wing pose, Bg and what a great catch...way to go.
