Nice image, love the mid air pose. Don't mind the shadow. Nice and sharp. Well done.

This works for me Ken, and very well done on capturing something different. I like the light and colours. The splash from another gnu adds to the image.

Great isolation of the Gnu. I like the mud on the front hooves & the spread RF hoof of the Gnu. The BG allows the critter to stand out. Well captured. I am totally ok with the shadow.

Beautiful action captured here. It seems to convey the sense of instinct overcoming fear--either jump right in or languish on the wrong side of the river. Shadow not a problem for me.

Nice timing. Shadow's not too big of an issue but it would be interesting to compare a version with it lightened up a bit. The bank looks pretty steep here, how far did he have to jump?

Thanks to everybody for your kind comments, I am in the extremely slow process of tidying up, and found this possibility only yesterday. This was one of the many RAW images I "lost" following a terrible back up session, but I still had the TIFF.

Steve,

They certainly sometimes leap from a long way up, in this case I am not to sure on height. I tried lightening the shadow a bit but it did not seem to do much.

Marc,

You have a great memory, two eyes indeed:)
