I was focused on a pair of egrets when this fellow suddenly glided by. By the time I squeezed off a few frames he was just a bit past me, so HA and wing position are less than ideal. But I like some things about the image and would appreciate C&C. Shot right at dusk in Chincoteague last week. Adjusted exposure in RAW, cleaned up debris in water and desaturated blue channel; NR and USM.

I love the high key background and all of the technical details are fine. Lighting is pleasing and really brings out the bird's color. But you are right about the head angle - unfortunately it does make me feel less than engaged with the bird. Still, I'm impressed with the sharpness you managed to get at 1/250s.

Bill, good panning technique for sure. Liked the high key BG and the sharpness. eye catches attention. This must have been tricky to crop...well done.

High key is a favorite for me and you did the GBH proud in this one, Bill.

Good high key effect Bill, and the heron stands out nicely, especially the blues.
