Nice colors, and I like the open bill. I would have preferred a better position of the near wing as it is obstructing a good chunk of the body and legs. I'd also prefer the bird higher in the frame. Don't be afraid to push your 40D's ISO higher to 800 in these lower light situations...the doubled SS would be of great advantage (although I realize this image is sharp enough as posted).
