I'm always amazed at the size of the fish that herons catch and then swallow whole! Nice and sharp; on my monitor the greens look a bit over-saturated.

I really like pictures when the preditor and prey have their eyes in focus. Well executed!

Wow. What an exciting image.

Why was the blind in the spot it was in?

Did you witness the capture of the fish?

Was this any type of set-up?

Thank you all and thank you Artie.
In order to shoot these birds must be hidden, it's avery unrest bird.
I did not saw the capture, she came out from the bush trying to free the fish from her bill.
It was not any type of set-up, I was there very early morning waiting for any kind of water birds.

Thanks for the info Haim. You put your blind in the perfect spot and took advantage of your good luck.

Have you ever sat in the blind for hours and not had a single bird come by?

YAW and that's what I figured. I have always been curious and eager to learn. And from my trips to Africa, I always loved Squacco Heron.
