It was very interesting to watch this guy eat this dead crab lying flat on my belly. It was like getting a small glimpse into his world. He defended it from all the other turnstones around and it was real fun to watch.
A slight rotation was done to level the horizon. I cleaned a couple of small off pebbles in the foreground.

Sweet image, Bhushan. Love the low angle and the nice clean bg. Nice looking meal too.
Although I don't mind it too much, it would perhaps have been even better if the water hadn't been intersecting the bird's back. It possibly need a little bit more CW rotation, but I'm not sure.
A bit of sharpening, and my usual request; would love to see this bigger :)

Well done on your belly so nice to get the image at that angle, it presents well. Good comments above and I would also like to see a bigger version which should show up the lovely mottled feather pattern even more.

Sidharth, thanks a lot for looking and the detailed critique. I agree with you on the water line, but to get it over the bird I would have required to use a higher shooting angle which would not have work well to get this perspective.
I use Capture NX2 to do image rotation and as per that the water line matches perfectly with the horizontal grid line. So not sure what is going on.
About your last request, I have had some bad experience in the past which makes me nervous to upload anything larger that 800 pixels on the web.

Nice action captured and great light. I think the suggestion for a CW rotation comes from the transition line in the front between OOF and IF areas which slopes upward from left to right. Pick your horizon... :)

Joerg, thanks. I think that is what it is. It was probably because of the slight angle I was shooting from.
