Hi Scott. The low angle is nice. The problem with photographing Hoodies is that if you don't have the right light angle, you are doomed from an exposure standpoint. You really need the sun coming from behind you or a lightly overcast day to capture Hoodies properly. From a composition standpoint, I would probably place the bird a little higher in the frame.

Beautiful bird. In addition to Doug's comments I would have also left some more space in front of the bird. I think that the crop is too tight as it is now.

Ditto Doug: without the proper sun angle you were doomed.... In addition, the shadowed WHITE crest was rendered pretty much BLUE. Yes to more room all around especially front and below. Do you have space there??? Lastly, the bird's head is angled away from you.
