I'm seriously looking for a computer flat screen monitor for my mac . I don't understand the terminology. I found one, for instance that stated "18.5-Inch Diagonal Screen; 16:9 Aspect Ratio; 1366 x 768 resolution
5 ms On/Off Response Time; 200 nits of Brightness; 5,000:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio"
are these good stats? (I also found one that was 50,000:1 ratio....seems like a big difference.) Any advice on what to look for? Thanks.

Sorry to have bothered you all. Obviously I was asking the wrong question--too generalized, etc. I have been doing some other research and think I have it figured out.

That's ok.
Very important - you also need to consider the monitor LCD technologies of the panel. Here is a good article by our Roger Clark - http://www.clarkvision.com/articles/choosing_an_LCD_monitor/index.html
