1/1600s, f/6.3, iso400, manual, ef400mm f5.6 with 7d. I was lucky to catch the moment when the husband coming back to his wife on the "Black Friday" late afternoon. Cropped from all sides. Too bad the lens is too short. CCs are always appreciated.

John:

This is a striking capture, really got me looking at it. If the flying bird had been coming towards us, it would have been even better. Shooting angle pretty good for eagles in a tree!
The color balance is pretty warm, probably benefitting from the late afternoon light.

The flying birds right wing has some unusual artifacts. Did you have to do any work on it?

Cheers

Randy

Thanks Randy for your comments, I did not do any particular "art work" but just used LR to give some field lights.

Like your sharpness John. As Randy said, it would have been nice if the 2nd eagle was flying towards us. I would have pushed the exposure a little further to the right to help with underwing detail. 400mm is tough, especially at places like Bosque del Apache. That's why God created 500mm and 600mm lenses! :p
