Pretty dynamic to say the least. :) Great behavior image and nice BG. I'm not so sure about the crop. I would prefer to see the left wing and tail of the adult unclipped.

Me too. But I don't have it as I was shooting vertical with the 2xtc on and no time to pull it once action started. As always, thanks for the suggestions and learnings!!!!

Then perhaps a tighter crop is in order. Maybe just above the adult's "knees" (which are actually it's ankles) from below, and from left to where the young one's wing meets the adult's body. Intense image nonetheles!

Daniel, are you suggesting some off the left and bottom? Or, just the bottom.

David, both bottom and left...something like this. Highly subjective of course, but I feel it gives more impact on the action - and if parts are going to be cut you might as well go right into that action! :-)

Sorry, didn't read your reply completely. Finally, a proper repost from me(in reply).

This is very similar but I believe it may be a bit stronger than either of the re-posts... Whaddy all think (and why)?

OK, I like it better cause it moves the focus point out of the center (didn't even notice before) and the diagonal formed by the wing tops and top of chicks head is stronger. Your crop is actually almost identical to Daniel's suggestion. I cropped lower because I didn't want to lose the parent's second leg. I do like yours best. You did manage to just leave the second leg.

Yours is rather similar than mine Artie, but yours has the lower left wing coming out of the LLC nicely centered. It also has a bit more green between said wing and parent's body...giving a bit more breathing room in that area. We both avoided having the leg joint showing.
