Nice and clean Tim especially with the catchlight, was this taken at Pensthorpe judging by the rings?

I like this shot more than the one you had yesterday. A beautiful bird and a perfect setting you found to photograph her. I'd like a bit more room at the top.

Thanks Tim, it was just the yellow ring which I thought looked odd for a wild one. They are very flighty, so top marks, really do like it.

Beautiful bird and image. Color is very nice and the bird has a very pleasing combination of sharpness and soft light. The BG has the qualities of an abstract painting.
Really nice photo!

I like this one better than the previous one too as I find the comp stronger, but I wish his head wasn't angled/tilted away as much. A striking little fella!

Hi Steve the coloured rings are part of a 10 year breeding study, with the oldest bird found this year to be 7/8 years old.
Phil.
Ps nice image Tim.

Thanks Phil, not seen those ones, but then these birds don't hang about to get a close up view at the best of times. 7/8 that's a grand age, nice to see some familiar faces on here. :D
Cheers
Steve

Top class background and wonderful tonal subtlety on the bird and reeds.
