Hi Folks;

Captured this male Anna's in my garden yesterday using ISO 800 for the first time. Will need some help checking noise, as these old peeper (86 Anos) aren't as sharp as they should be.

Any help, comments always appreciated, redos too :)

Gus,

Looks like you did well to me, I do not see a big noise issue here, the exposure and sharpness appear to be spot on.

Nice capture Gus. The tongue is a bonus which I like...

Noise looks well controlled and sharpness looks good. Why are you pushing the ISO? If you're not trying to include a flower, you could open up your aperture a little and drop the ISO if noise is a concern.

Hi Folks;

Was testing to use smaller aperture so that DOF would be better, have decided ISO 400 & F/7.1 works out OK.

Thanks for all your comments

Much apprecfiated

Amazing image, Gus! The tongue is a big bonus and the tail is sharp as a tack! One small suggestion would be to "paint" over the lighter areas on the wings with a close by shade of taupe at a light opacity (maybe 20-30%) and see if that tones those bright areas down a bit...I also think it would make them look more natural.

Excellent image of this beauty - I can't get over how good you're getting at this without an elaborate flash set up!

Hi Jules;

What an eagle eye :2eyes2:

What do you think?

Now I'll keep both wing situations in my noggin.

Thanks Young Lady

Big improvement, Gus! I don't know about having "eagle eyes"...more like "eagle bifocals!" :D
