A summer image I just now got around to processing this Semipalmated Plover was taking a break from feeding.

40D, 500 f/4 + 1.4 TC, 1/1000 at f/8, Aperture Priority, Evaluative Metered + 2/3, RAW, ISO 400, Tripod, Cropped

I like to watch these plovers and you did a good job showing this one off. I notice several round whiteish-circles in the background -- especially under the tail --

Lovely image. Great low angle and details. Would maybe give this a slight CWR.

Scott, Thanks for your comment the white circles are OOF pieces of shell have not yet decided if I am going to take the time to clone them out.

Great low angle, details, and exposure. Looks a bit too contrasty IMO. I might also crop a bit off the top.

Nice low angle and beautiful fluffed up look. Nice exposure and sharpness. Another vote for a slight crop from top.

While I slight crop from the top would put the head into more common the rule of thirds I like to use on occasion the golden mean which I did here.
