Hey Bill,
Looks like an HDR?....as the shadows look good but there is a pronounce glow around the ruins....but overall the colors look good. I think a more careful revisit in PP'ing will take this up a notch and while you ar eat it....consider more of a pano crop to further emphasize the ruins....starting with the sky first. Just some ideas to consider!

Hi Bill, love the light with good placement of the ruins. This has a bit of an HDR look to it as Roman mentioned. The image would work as a pano crop and I would also look at just cropping out about half the clouds.
I've been to Hovenweep and haven't seen this angle taken...

Good comments above Bill. I don't have anything to add except I will second the crop recommendations.

Very nice comp as snow and clouds really make the image

Love the colors. The snow adds a lot to this shot. Agree with cropping some off the top.

I don't remember HDRing this one. It is an older shot so who knows. If it happened more than a week ago I wouldn't remember it. (Old)

Hi Bill, a nice angle and great lighting here. Agree with the suggestion to crop some out of the clouds.

Thank you all for the comments. I agree and I looked back at my files; the image is indeed an hdr ( not a very good one at that) Sorry about the poor quality of the conversion, I can do better now. I was just starting to experiment with Photomatix when I did that conversion. Hovenweep is not far from where I live so I do go often enough to get some good lighting and angles. The suggestions help.

I love the angle and the red and blue colors are beautiful.

The light hitting that brick wall is just brilliant, agree on the cropping/conversion fix.

A pretty nice scene and capture. Yes, lose half the clouds, and select all the snow and reduce the bluish tint. Should be white.

I love Hovenweep. Especially the ruins that are separate from the main facility. I like that you captured the ruin in snow. Processing might be a little strong (as already mentioned) but I think you have a good image to work from.
