Like this image a lot Stuart, it brings a smile to my face.

The crop and the comp is great and I love the frog's smirk.

Oh no , you clipped the right hand petal! If you added a small strip of canvas to the right edge it would be great.
On a more minor level I would do a selective USM on the frogs face. Also the left side of the flower is a little hot.

Hi Stuart,
This image works very well for me. Since you did clip the right petal.............I might like to see it cropped from the right (edge of small petal, between two large ones) and top proportionally. This would emphasize the frog even more. Other corrections Robert mentioned but very a very striking image!

I did not see the original but the reworked image is wonderful, I am not Ia big fan of all black back grounds but I think it works nicely here along with the yellow of the flower.

Neat photo Stuart. It could still use a bit more sharpening on the head though IMO. Further I can clearly see the added canvas strip on the right. Iit is not as black as the rest of the BG.
