I would appreciate any feedback you could offer on this image. It was captured on Rainy Lake, which is border water between Minnesota and Canada. It was captured using a Canon EOS 20D and a 100-400mm IS lens, which was hand-held.

Thanks Bill and Manos! I was just revisiting some older images last night and found this image had not been converted from RAW. It was a pleasant surprise to find this one.

Since I am a "newbie" I will not be able to offer detail critique, but great colors and tack sharp.
I also notice that my 100-400 is sharp around F8, you must have relly nice light conditions for F8 and 1/500".

Jake, I love the loon colors and sharpness and that marvelous green water. I know how hard these guys are to photograph. I wish the reeds directly behind the bird could be darkened or toned down a bit.

Sharp and great colors, esp. the head. I could do with a few fewer reeds in the BKGR. Overall, I like it a lot.

later and love, artie

Nice image and very sharp detail. The reeds in the bg would be better toned down a tad. But I do like this image.

The two bright reeds sticking out from top of the back could be toned down, and the image could use more space in front of the loon as it is too centered as is. Otherwise a super photograph...very clean presentation.

Great details and colors. I might tone down the whites on the chest a bit.
