I am concentrating on capturing different poses of pelicans this year...something I didn't do a good job of last year. Hope you like this one. is it a little tight?

Exposure looks perfect in the whites. There is just so much detail KD. I love the pose and your framing, although I am tossing up whether I'd like more room down and right. Big congrats buddy! :)

Gorgeous shot, nothing to add...except does it need a little CCW? TFS beautiful bird and the colors are perfect.

Thx. The waves are coming in at an angle. I did my best in rotation by lining up the reflection. But I'll go back to the raw file, put the grid on and check again.

I like the pose Kaustubh. Does look like it needs a little rotation.

Great low angle and a perfect exposure. I love the preening pose. Yes, it does feel a little tight too me.
Keep them coming!

Too tight for me. Do you have more room? EXP perfect as noted. The head angle is close but the top of the head could have been rotated a bit more towards us so that the face and bill would have been perfectly parallel to the sensor.

Thx everyone for the constructive comments.
Artie, I don't have any room below but here's repost with room added on other sides.

Better KD. Could you have gotten any lower? (I suspect not...)

No. At this spot, I have to shoot from a tiny fishing pier. Will need a 800mm from the bank to get the perfect low-level shot :-)

Kaustubh, Beautiful exposure and the whites look perfect. Nice preening pose and the water color adds to this lovely image. Well done on the repost.

Kaus, you are showing off by telling us that you are wanting to capture all sorts of poses, and I dont have a single shot of a Pelican just floating in the water. ;) Excellent exposure, tack sharp and you certainly captured good detail throughout. I like the colour of the water too.

Very nice. beautiful exposure and details.
I like the 2nd image better.
The angled waves do cause an optical illusion of it not looking straight.
cheers
Gavin
