Hi Richard, thanks for sharing. The crop that you have here feels a bit tight. I always try to give my subject a little wiggle room, some figurative room to breathe. If it were possible, I'd try to move a few feet to the right to get a more direct light angle.
I've attached a repost of what I might do with the composition (I also hit it with a little Smart Sharpen). Try not to pay attention to the terrible Photoshop work :D

Also wud you lighten the eye using levels on a selection or leave as is?

Hi Richard, Blake's repost took your image up a notch; pretty little bird. I'm not sure about whether the eye needs adjusting.

lightened the eye, recropped (also ignore my pathetic perch clone lol)
thx Katie for comment; they are very pretty and amazingly difficult to get close to!
