Not the usual subject from Giants Castle. They don't get much airtime compared to Bearded Vultures but they are the most entertaining birds to watch and photograph with their aerial acrobatics and formation flying in the thermals.Their bills are white tipped.

C&C most welcome.

Peter, terrific wing and tail spread. Processing/ exposure look very good too.

Pieter:

Very soft light with nice hint of transillumination of wings while maintaining decent detail in the darks. Nice stretched legs/talons.
The grasses on the left anchor the image. Wish the other bird wasn't there.

There does appear to be a sharpening halo spilling out along the edges of the wings.

I might be tempted to give it a bit more room on both sides, and maybe even below if you have the canvas.

Great to see a new bird from this famous location.

Cheers

Randy

Love the pose and the vegetation. An added catchlight in the birds left eye might help.

Love the soft light for the blacks corvids. Loverly incoming pose. Would like more room on the sides, esp. on our right. The black bird (???) behind the grasses is a mild distraction.

Pretty neat pose with the cocked head. I love the vegetation, but I agree that what seems like another bird within it is a bit distracting. I also agree with a bit more room left and right.

Just a bit more room and I never noticed the OOF bird if it weren't for the other guys. :) I am blind...... Lovely pose and great to see a different species in this manner. :)

Pieter, excellent wingspread and fanned tail, and you have nailed the exposure very well. When you said their bills are white tipped, I thought he had dipped it in some white stuff.;) Good head turn, and overall, a fine image.

Thanks all for the feedback, much appreciated.

Will give it more room and remove the OOF bird. Thanks for pointing out the halos Randy will fix.
