I have never done bird blurs before...so here's my first attempt. Does this work? You can call it 'ghost of halloween' as I shot this yesterday :-)

40D. 400 f5.6L at f/6.3. iso 320. 0.5 seconds. No post processing. All C&C welcome.

I like the look of the greens and that the Egret is still visible. The multiple ghosting positions of the wings is very appealing. Well done Kautubh!

Hey Kaus, interesting effect from the motion blur, and can make out the head and beak quite well. I particular like the curves and waves.

Nice idea, but for me a little too blurred - sorry!:)

These surreal angel blurs rarely work well but this one does. It look as if we are seeing just one head and one bill to go with lots of wings :) Just hope that Denise does not see this here :)

She'll have to forgive us for the pan-blurs showing up in Avian for November!:D

Wicked image!! Looks like it was frantically beating its wings butterfly-style! Lovely BG too. Well done.

This is very nice KD. I like it. Have you thought about a little more contrast? :)

Thx everyone. At 0.5 seconds, I was not going to get anything sharp...so I just panned to sync with the bird's speed hoping that the bird wouldn't be band. was pleasantly surprised with the results.

wow your first attempt? Is this hand held? You haven't mentioned flash so, no flash? You simply panned and shot. I'm not really into blurs until now.
