This Eagle was working hard, trying to break the branch off the tree.
It was awesome to watch. He did it 3 times ;)

Nice warm light and love the action captured here, really like how the eagle is upside down. The bird looks sharp with good details too. I also like how the branches help frame the bird too. Only wish that the eagle tail didn't merge with the needles from the tree.

TFS, excellent image.

It looks as if he/she bit off more then it could chew with that "green" branch.

Love the warm light and the environment in this image Troy...amazing to see with your own eyes isn't it?

Duane, definitely. He/she did it 3 times that morning and it was fun watching them do that and kept trying, more opportunities for me.

Good behavioural capture, and glad you managed to capture him/her in the open. Good light and warm colours.

Was it eventually succesful?

Awesome behaviour you got, and in sweet light no less.

Daniel, no. They gave up and tried on another pine tree. One even flew miles away and brought back a really big one.
