Love it!!

I like the movement, beautiful background. Do they go for the berries? Or just perching on it?

Congrats!

Good shot of the bird .. seems a little dark though !?

Geraldo no they don't go for blackberries - they were on the way to sunflower seeds!
Amano I made the image a deliberately a little darker because the white cheek tends to look too bright after sharpening ( I appreciate I could deal with this selectively) but overall it doesn't look dark to me.

Hi

Nice shot; I like the composition and prefer to see more than a bird and plain perch anyways, so the berries look good.

nice details though and I also like the foot!, whites look fine to me.

This is a very nice shot. Even tho they don't go berries the berries help make the picture.

Darn, lost what I wrote! Love the bird and the berries and the nice framing. And the good EXP and the raised foot. Even though I am partial at times to 3X2 the bird is just too near the middle for me here and the vegetation on the upper left is somewhat over-bearing. This the repost :)

Like that repost with more of the berries! Great color and I like the raised foot.

Hey Dan, Same amount of berries; less leaves :)

Thanks very much everyone for your interesting comments and thanks Artie for the repost; a simple crop has made a substantial difference.
I am pleased to see I got away with the bottom edge. I had to add a little canvas as the blackberries were just clipped so when I added canvas I was concerned that the junction of the berries and canvas would not look too realistic.

YAW. You did a good job. It's all a matter of COMP balance. Do you have ABP II? There is a big section on Advanced Composition and image design.

great capture, the black berry perch is so cool :)
I find the tit is a sliver too high in the repost, but I agree that it looks a bit better with not so much stuff on the left

I echo Jan Wegener's comments. Artie has the right idea. Artie's crop better tells the story of the bird running down the branch.
