Haven't had much time to shoot nature lately. But I did try out the other day this iPhone App. called Pro HDR which actually gives you some control over processing. Took this moonrise shot just as the sun set in the west. Handheld. Applied 1 pass of noise reduction. Other than the noise reduction, everything was processed on the iPhone 4G.

Hey Michael,
It's getting scary what those phones can do! Do yo uknow the effected f-stop on the phone?.....that is where I think they suffer but still pretty cool that you can get that kind of detail from an app! I'd image the next few generations of 35mm will get there too! I do think yo ucan bring this into PS and open up the MG....and as with most WA views....the moon isn't that pronounced so putting it off to the side would help. I can envision the day when we will be standing there just taking pictures with our phone!

Can you change or choose the settings? I think my friend has one (not sure brand) that you can and even zoom....digital zoom I'd imagine. If you think back where the first generation digital camera's were....not unlikely that these things are going to get pretty sophisticated....and soon! Can "beam me up Scotty" be far behind?;)

you can do a digital zoom on the phone; but I opt to crop it in processing if I have to. It has a 5mg camera on the 4g so you can crop and still get a decent 5x7 I would say. Here is the link to the iphone app. http://eyeappsllc.com/Home.html

Hi Michael, I'm also taken back a bit about the image quality of a phone. I like the basic comp and the soft lighting. Also feel the moon should be offset and a bit could come off the top.
