Apologies - forgot to mention - cropped for composition and removed rock behind duck.

Hi Pieter, interesting scene you saw here with the muds and low water level creating neat patterns. I'd try to tame the brightest highlights (you may need to use the clone tool at 20% or so and clone in some surrounding pixels). I also wish the second duck's face was more parallel to the sensor for a better view of its bill. Perhaps a bit of selective sharpening on the ducks as their contours seem a bit on the soft side. Good colours, and I like the overall comp.

Nice colors, EXP, and COMP but downhill for me after that. The birds do not look particularly sharp and where Dan sees nice patterns in the mud I see, for lack of a better term: yuckie.

Thanks Daniel and Arthur for the feedback, some good learning points. Arthur I am interested to know which of the yuck you don't like. Is it the background or foreground or all of the above .?

Hi Pieter, Though I am not a fan of either yuck the foreground yuck is the worst of it :)
