I photographed this on the Florida IPT this past February with Denise coaching me on the in-camera blur process. The emphasis is on the pelican landing but with the head facing away is this presentation effective? All c & c very welcome.

Nancy, I like it. The feet almost touching the water is sweet! I do wish the head were not merged w/ the wing and that you had just a tiny bit of eye detail but those wings and the high key effect are nice.

Nancy, I really like the way the wings look and the landing position is great. Nice job.:)

Nancy, nicely done. I too like that you captured this before the feet hit the water.

Nice moment and the blur works really well Nancy. As Denise mentioned it would be cool to see all of that big bill but that's minor I think. There is a dark cloudy area between the wingtips that I would suggest lightening a bit. When I look at this image I think of hitting "play" and watching the pelican land. ;)

Thank you all. This blur stuff is great fun and you can burn through a CF card quickly :)! For me I can hardly wait to see exactly what I captured.

Love the pose and sense of motion, Nancy. Perfect amount of blur. I agree with Denise on the head merge, but it's still an excellent image. :)
