Here is my image that placed:
http://www.clarkvision.com/galleries/gallery.africa_2009/web/baby.elephants.c01.17.2009._mg_0130.f-900.html

But a story is behind it showing I can't predict what will get the judge's attention.

I was very busy this spring and as the contest deadline approached, I only had time to get 4 images ready. After getting the 4 complete, I figured I had a little more time so grabbed one more, the baby elephants above. I didn't think it would win because of the clutter of the second baby elephant behind, but submitted it anyway.

I had previously posted this image in the BPN wildlife forum. The image above was reprocessed based on comments on BPN.

The look on the face of the elephant with the stalk is priceless, amazing, and too cute. The 2nd animal is in a rather pleasing position. Congrats. I never saw the original post. My only comment would have been a wish for a bit more room on our left (for the tree stump).

Congrats to all and Denise :) This is her honored image. I encouraged her to enter the contest (in part because it has a Digital Creations category). She was thrilled when she learned that she had made the finals and dismayed when she did not win. When they first announced only the category winners she had missed the fine print about "the rest of the honored images being announced soon." I knew that she had a good chance> I am glad that her image was selected and quite proud of her achievement. (I had to in the finals and wound up empty-handed. I won Grand Prize in Wildlife in the first year of this contest before it was a big deal and "Gannets in Love" won the "Art in Nature" category last year.)

Click here (http://www.birdsasart.com/2010/02/02/birds-as-art-bulletin-315/) to learn more about Fractalius and see some more of Denise's great Fracts.

Why not start a separate Forum for just people that win contests etc to post their pictures. The way it is now they get mentioned and posted in more than one place and not everyone gets to hear about them or see them.

Hi Arthur, I'm sure Amy will when she gets back to Florida. She is on a photography road trip with a couple of friends and is currently in the Blueridge mountains. In fact she was on the road when she got the news.
