Not the most flattering POV for this bird, but trying to get any half decent shots can be rather tricky at the best of times, as it seems their comfort zone tends to be rather large.

very nice shot Steve, pity about the branches going across the legs, and one going across the toe,but the head and back detail, take your eye away, and make this a magic shot, nice BG,and I like the head angle.thanks.

I don't mind the rear view of this bird -- if all we saw were front shots, I would never know what the back of a bird looked like. Love those lolng legs and talons and the hint of color in the eye-- interesting bird

Very nice Steve...Where did you take this...In South Africa? We have 2 variations here, a Dark and Pale Chanting Goshawk

The eye contact makes all the difference here. I like it as is even though the branches are transecting the leg/foot. Well done. :)

Nice head turn and eye contact! Looks like a challenging species!

Hi Steve, good look back pose, and good DOF. I like the overall detail too. I still need one of these guys in my files.

I like the pose different perspective from the norm and good exposure and sharpness. As mentioned eye contact is good which is difficult to get as the eye socket of these birds is very dark.
