Just out of curiosity I wish I knew what this insect was? I know techs are off!

Hi Bob. This cool looking critter is an Ailanthus Webworm Moth (Atteva punctella) - one of the Micromoths. As you say, some of the technical aspects of the photo could be better - next time you see one, (and I never have) try and get that head in focus. :)
