Well, kinda loses something in this small 60% quality jpeg. Sigh. Is it allowable to post a link to a higher res image? A 1024 long edge 80% quality jpeg runs 850 KB :(.

Along the theme, the actual eyes on the head are very dark and the head is slightly oof. But I don't notice that much.

Processing: color & poster edges, sharpening.

Tail detail and colors look lovely..this is a big no-no, of which I've been guilty more than once....make sure the eyes are in focus...TFS

Michael, I do wish you could lighten the eye. The larger image really shows the feathers, eyes and tail wonderfully. Colors are great! TFS.

Nice image Michael. I thought I might add that the file size of a jpeg has a great deal to do with the complexity of the image. For example large areas of uniform color, like a blue sky, create much smaller file sizes. Regards~Bill

Hey Mike....I like this a whole lot....very colorful and graphic at the same time...Unique! You are right to say that to appreciate this image you have to look at the larger file! This is one for the wall! Congrats! :cheers:

Michael, the larger image really shows it off more. Gorgeous colors and detail in the feathers. I think the head is secondary to the image.:)

Thank you all for the comments. Denise, I do have more of the actual eyes... I processed this some time ago (cropped for this post) and will re-process with some new tricks I've learned since then. The head in the capture is oof but there is more detail in the head I can recover.

BTW, this shot was from the San Diego Zoo, where peacocks appear to be able to roam freely.
