Shot this at Longwood Gardens this summer. White is always a challenge. This was shot in soft light to bring out the detail.Used the twin flashes to even it out.

Hi Dave,

Beautiful flower, well presented, wonderful DOF and detail..............If it were mine, and you now I love the water lilys, I would tone it down just a bit and lighten up on the shadows. Also, I might tone
down the BG pad to pop the Lily even more. That's just my taste.

Hey Dave, very nice texture in the petals, like the sharp details, like the comp.

Hi Dave. A beautiful flower with great detail in the whites (and shadows). Also, good sharpness throughout. For my taste, the flower seems a bit tight in the frame at the top. There are also several little "points" on the leaf that are just clipped by the top of the frame - adding a little room at the top, if you have it, would take care of that. Well done.

Stunning picture of this flower, Dave. Great job with the whites, they sure are tough.
Would like to see a bit more room up top too.

Dave, the texture of the petals really tells the story here. Love the single lily pad in the corner - beautiful contrast and perfect comp.

Really like the composition Dave, the whites are handled very well and the DOF is perfect. TFS

I agree the texture of the petals really make this a beautiful capture. Like the background pad as is. Nothing more to add as it's all covered above. A shot to be proud of.

Hey Dave,
As mentioned above .....great job on the whites! I like tight crops so am OK with this as presented. I do like the balance of the leaf too......so works for me overall.
