20D 100-400L IS @ ISO800 F/8 1/4000 HANDHELD 60MPH BOAT

We were out and about looking for Ospreys when this GBH overtook us right overhead. I pulled the boat to starboard, lined up parallel, put it on auto pilot, stood up, darn near fell out on a wake, but my firends wife saved me by grabbing my t-shirt, and started shooting. I know it's dark under the wings but I love the frame. I had never been that close to one flying. They are huge.

Huge they are, you know, when they are overhead, their exposed part to us is in the shade, so we need to add one extra stop of light te render some detail in the under wing.
I bet it was exciting :)

I shot this one last year - so I have an excuse. I know your a teacher, but you haven't sent me to the principles office yet. :) I know your right of course. I would imagine ISO 400 @1/2000 would have been about right. I remember I had set up the ISO because we were shooting into trees and I wanted to maintain f/8. I had not returned my settings to default when this guy came out of nowhere and I wasn't thinking - no comment Fabs :)
