These guys are generally so nervous and move so quickly it was very hard to get a nice close-up but I was fairly happy with this one

Per-Gunnar - nice capture. Only help I might give is to try ISO 800 at F8 should the chance happen again and only if your camera supports that combination.

Great details on the face, and I love the windswept (or naturally ruffled?) neck feathers. I'm on the fence about the amount of body you show but I still like it as is - it shows the horizontal posture these guys often assume.

Really liked the details and textures on the face and bill.

Cool looking creature and it looks almost like it's distantly related to our wild turkeys over here in the US.

Detail is there but it looks like it could be sharpened a tad more on the hear area. I would also try lightening up the eye a bit and giving it some selective sharpening.

Needs a bot more room at the top and on the left.

I would like to see less body, more in front and a little more on top. Showing so much body takes focus away from that amazing head and those ruffled neck feathers.

Really nice details in this. The bird is nice and sharp, and I like the birds head being horizontal to you.

I love the gradient of colors on the face. Nice close-up!

oh man, this guy is gorgeous! like the crop - the detail in the head and feathers is wonderful. wish the bird popped from the background just a little more -

Spectacular bird, well-captured. But I agree the image could use some more "pop". I downloaded it and applied two rounds of mild local contrast enhancement via the USM filter.
