I had a very neat opportunity the other night to photograph this cute little owl. I havent seen too many shots of this species at night so I thought I'd post this one.
All the best!

Beautiful shot, and +1 on Jim's comment about the eyes: just remarkable.
I like the way the two branches frame the bird.

Amazing how an owl can turn its head completely around . . . one vote for eliminating the top branch.

Great shot Glenn! The yellow ring around the pupil, the iris, looks absolutely fantastic, especially against the all black background. I also really like the bit of branch across the upper left corner. Thanks for sharing!

Wow, those eyes. Amazing. In contrast John and Chantelle I think the image is greatly improved if you crop below the upper branch. At the moment I find it distracts rather than frames.

Great eyes contact on the black BG, it's make it more beautiful.

Nice flash exposure Glen, I too would crop below the top branch. Love the eyes.

Good use of the flash. I love those eyes. I also vote to lose upper branch. I would crop to just below it. John

The eyes have it. Good execution with the flash and techs. Cropping the branch would screw up the framing which I like. I would just fill that area with the surrounding black.

Love those eyes Glenn. Excellent image.
I would consider cloning out the top branch.

Personally I would keep the top branch and I absolutely love this image

For this owl to be balanced in the frame, I really feel that the upper branch needs to stay...even though at first look, you may think otherwise. Lovely capture of a captivating creature!
