Hi Folks

Captured this male Anna's hummingbird in our garden yesterday.

Hey Gus - Well done - Love the muted BG compliments the hummer nicely.
Lovely colours on the throat and nice fine details throughout. Exposure looks good.

I agree, well done! Did you use any fill flash, or was this natural light?

Hi Ian, Thanks for your kind words. No, I didn't use any flash, just early morning light when the sun begins to rise ove the 9500' mountains to the east of us. We are at 3000'. Bestb regards, Gus

Gus, I like the color of the BG but it feels rather heavy to me in tonal range. Did you look at bringing up the light tones a bit with a curves or levels adjustment just to see if you liked it any better?

I calibrate my monitor every month, and with my 86 yr, old peepers, just healed from a serious operation a year ago I don't see any heaviness in the tonal range. Maybe you can show me what you mean with a bit of levels or curves adjustment.
