Love the landing pose and the wing spread. I only wish for a little more eye contact, but that case the bird would not be landing on the perch I guess :-). Well done.

I too love the pose and am okay with not much eye contact. Nice lighting and very sharp. Great work James. :)

Fantastic pose James, I like the details in the wings. The soft blue BG adds nicely to the image.:)

I have to agree with Lorant regarding the eye contact, otherwise everything else is superb.

Great shot, maybe 1/10 sec before and perhaps the eyes would have been more obvious.

This is really good James. Loved the wingspread and the comp with the vegetation.

Very well timed Jim, and I like the symmetry of the wings. Overall sharp, and I like your comp.

beautiful - the detail of the wings, the curve of the feathers, yellow talons along with the red eyes really make the image striking.

I'll take it; with more eye contact, you'd have a bird tripping over the branches. As you said, he's focusing and concentrating. You chose the right weather for a shot like this, and you were in the right position. The implication therefore is that the shot was no accident, that it was something you planned. I see choosing, planning, and patient waiting here. I see a photographer who knew what he was after.

Really like the wing spread, outstretched talons, and sharpness Jim. The hint of eye is enough for me.
