Dan's recent post of his gull inspired me to show one of a grey headed gull landing against some reeds. I liked the extended wings. Taken at a small wetlands near Johannesburg in early morning light.

Tack sharp, Dof and wing position make this an all around nice image...the birds face and eye, love it. TFS

Beautiful image. I like the HA, the wing position, & especially the feet. The BG color is lovely, but it seems a little too bright to my eye.

When I saw this thumbnail, I thought it was a snow goose from bosque. What a great capture. The pose, the comp, the colors, the sharpness. It's all there. Great capture.

Is this gull in need of a manicure?

Razor sharp! The water trailing from the feet and the lone droplet really add to the image. You might consider opening up the blacks in the near wing tip, and also lightening the dark area in the LLC a little.

Stuart, Beautiful colored BG and very nice pose. Sharp eye and I like the dangling feet. I think Doug makes a good point regarding the darks. Very well done!

Two degrees more head turn toward you would have been perfection as I love the bird, the SH, the light, the pose, and the BKGR. Overall: superb.

Thank you Artie. Agree, a few more deg's would have been a winner.;)
