Hey guys and gals, thought I'd get the ball rolling here! With our country being so vast and covering so much territory with an unbelievable array of habitat hopefully this will be a great forum to help our friends around the world and within our own borders with ideas of where, when, and how to get to some of our prime spots for bird/wildlife photography.

So much ground to cover, literally, but I'm sure our impressive contigent of canadian members/users will chime in from time to time with some helpful ideas to discover our great and "wild" country...:)

Hi from the beautiful Annapolis Valley, NS. I am just getting into this properly, and have started to post a few images. Lots of opportunities for landscape and nature photography here.

Dan thanks for getting this forum going. Although I've lived in Ottawa for almost 18 years I hale from the East Coast. I grew up in New Brunswick alongside the majestic Bay of Fundy.

As a marine biologist I've lived in St. Andrews-by-the-Sea and worked for many years on the New Brunswick side of the mouth of the bay around the 'Fundy Isles' (Deer, Campobello and Grand Manan). The Bay of Fundy boasts some of the highest tides in the world (2 x per day) which stir up nutrients attracting many sorts of marine life. The area offers many seasonal opportunities for the photographer including scenery (coastal scenes, fishing boats, aquaculture sites), birds (eagles, ospreys, loons, many seabirds), seals and other marine mammals including minke, fin, humpback and the rare North Atlantic Right Whale.

My studies and work have taken me to both the East and West coasts so I'll have additional points to add from other locations in the future. ;)
