Black-tailed Godwit Limosa limosa

Out shooting shorebirds yesterday ...
A large flock of this species is wintering here in Hong Kong and this is one of the shots captured then. :)

EOS-1D Mk II, EF500/4L IS + EF1.4x

Fantastic KK. Love the dorsal view of the birds, the mood of the scene, action and soft light. The presence of OOF birds in the lower part of the BG is a bonus. Well done

Hi KK, I usually dont care for these flock shots, but this one is an exception, I like the comp, the clarity and the oof birds in the bottom of the frame, nice work:)

I will go against the grain here and say that I would prefer the absence of those OOF birds at bottom (or at least if they were more definable bird shapes.) Still a great photograph that wonderfully demonstrates the grace and agility of such shorebird flocks. Very neat!

I find this type of image particularly difficult to get right and the arrangement of the birds really works here. Excellent!
