This is a full frame shot of a Razorbill. I just love there birds and when you get this close they look at bit intimidating. Something I like about the image is the reflection of the cliff face in the eye - a nice accident :)

Nicely done with a clean BKGR and soft light. Good detail in the whites and the blacks. I would have liked to have seen a bit more head turn toward you and a bit more depth-of-field for the bill. If the former there would have been less need for the latter :)

Michael:

Soft light really helped here, as I rarely see so much detail in the browns without the whites being toast.
Good points by Artie.
I like the comp. as well.

Cheers

Wow, this bird has personality! I like it very much and agree with Arthur about the HT.

Thanks for the comments. The head angle was the one thing I was disappointed with. I have another in the same series but the head turn is too much and you lose the bill. They are a bit fidgety and difficult to get just right especially that close

Thanks again

Michael
