Like the clean BG and the comp is good and the perch is interesting.

The killer for me is the head angle, if you have any from the series with the bird looking towards the camera it would be a much more pleasing image.
Also I can see a halo around the head/breast, and i would lighten the front of the bird up a bit with a mask.
