Sweet pose, BG and comp. Look a bit light. I would tone down the midtones a bit.

Good pose, perch and BG, Rich. Agree with Alan about the brightness. I have tried a version simply pushing the midpoint slider in levels to the right, masking the adjustment off the eye and nudging up the sharpening a bit.

Hi Tony

I did midpoint in curves, looks like I didnt bring hte midpoint down enough but you have hit the spot there.

For this image I follwed the DB asics pdf and tried sharpening 3 times at 125, 0,2 and 0 settings; what additional did you give it in USM please.
I presume you used Quick Mask:) on the eye?

really good end result thank you very much all.

Nice pose and bg. Looks like you could have gone with -0.3ec which would have bumped up your SS a bit more. Tony's repost has really added some great touches to this nice image.

Tony's repost has improved this image alot. Good pose, perch, and BG. Fill-flash would have done good things for this image!!

Each repost got a bit better. I like Tony's best--thank you sir! But the mid-tones on Tony's are just a bit dark. I'd lose the hair (???) below the bill. A nice capture that has been vastly improved post-posting!

Rich, I just ran Nik sharpener at 50% of it's default setting for screen display.
The levels adjustment I did as an adjustment layer and then used a layer mask to keep it off the eye.

Tony brought your image to life. I'd like a re-crop with the redbreast a bit smaller in the frame. The redbreast is life-size or larger on my monitor and looks a bit disproportionate.
