What interesting looking frogs -- where was this taken?? I think this is a very interesting composition with the frogs facing each other like this. I might try cropping to a pano to focus the eyes more in the interaction of these two frogs. Any post processing done??

I like the position of the eyes and DOF on this image! I've only seen one other photo of this type of frog...do you know the name of it and where was this made?

These were shot at the Museum of Nature in Ottawa. I think they are African Frogs, not sure the exact name. They were shot through glass too. There was some pp done indeed, but I can't remember what I did, I know I did crop the shot, adjusted levels, burned some hot spots and sharpened. I thought it came out quite well considering I was shooting handheld, at 200 and 2.8 (with the 70-200 which is know to be soft at the long end) 800 ISO and shooting through glass. I liked the way the frogs were looking at each other.

Sweet image, Art! Would also think about a pano crop - I really think it would strengthen the horizontal lines even more. The eyes seem a little soft - might explore a little more sharpness in that general area. What a nice composition overall, though. Neat image!

Art, this is a very cool capture!
I also think a tighter pano crop would look good, assuming you have the pixels to pull it off. A little more DOF would have been nice but considering the conditions this was shot in, you did quite well.

Hey Art,
Tough shooting conditions for sure! Going w/ less shutter speed to add it to the DOF would b ethe way to go in the future. You could probably HH that lens safely at 1/160 sec. giving you one full stop of DOF. Just something to keep in mind for the next time out.
