This really works for me. I often find razorbill images don't show much detail in the eye because they are so dark, but the soft light here coupled with good exposure really helped.
Open bill, angle in the frame, all very nice.
I might be tempted to add a bit more canvas on top, would be easy if your ethics allow, but overall very well done!

This is a very beautiful image. The details in the black are superb, the head angle is perfect, I love that you can see the maroon of the lower face and neck, and the eye is superb. My only wish is that the black of the BKGR on the right third of the image is a bit too black.

Xavier, One of my all time favorite birds. I love the eye! Perfect details and coloration. The gape makes this special. I do agree about the dark area in BG.

I too like this image because of the tonality, with just enough detail where it's needed- eye, beak, mouth, and feather detail. At ISO 1600 on the 50D the noise looks surprisingly good in the dark tones.

Love this image Xavier! The soft light helped you to bring out all the detail in this stunning bird (the 300mm f/2.8 takes the 2x really well). Who says the 50D can't do ISO 1600! :)
