This has been an excellent week of images! Although I could not actively participate earlier in the week, I did take time to go through each of the images. With so many outstanding images, it is always difficult to judge a winner. Each of the images have so many things going for it. Ultimately, it is the vision, technique and relevance to the theme that helped me decide on the winners. So here they are -
First place - Connie Mier for "Biscayne Bay Birds (http://www.birdphotographers.net/forums/showthread.php?71139-Biscayne-Bay-Birds)". I liked the perspective as seen and its simplicity in presentation which makes this an outstanding composition. Congratulations Connie.
Second place - Judy Howle for "Cormorant Moon (http://www.birdphotographers.net/forums/showthread.php?71333-Cormorant-Moon)" final repost. This is a very close second! What I liked most about this image is the execution of a vision we all love. Excellent composite and the moon with its glow is spectacular.
Third place - Steve Adkins for "LoonScape (http://www.birdphotographers.net/forums/showthread.php?71166-LoonScape)" second repost. This is truly a majestic composition with mountains, trees, water, mist and a lone loon. It reminds us to look around and see the beauty in nature.
Fourth Place - Patti Edens for "Flying Through Fire (http://www.birdphotographers.net/forums/showthread.php?71226)". Another image that bring all the elements of a magical moment together! What I liked most is the treatment with filters.
Congratulations to all the winners and participants and to Denise and Kerry for their images and guiding all of us.
