NANPA is awarding scholarships for up to 12 college students to attend NANPA’s 17th Annual Nature Photography Summit in McAllen, Texas, from March 7-14, 2011, and the deadline for applications is November 8, 2010. (Students arrive two days early to participate in the College Program photo shoot.)
The scholarship covers all student expenses while at the Summit, including lodging, meals and the Summit registration fee. Students will attend presentations by top industry professionals and breakout sessions covering all aspects of nature photography.
In addition, students will photograph in the field alongside professional photographers and mentors and will participate in a one-on-one portfolio review by one of the nation’s top picture editors, stock agents or photographers.
Students qualify for scholarships via an application process, including a portfolio submission. A major in art or photography is not required, but students must demonstrate their passion for nature photography to a selection committee. Applicants must be fulltime students at a two- or four-year college, university or trade school and be at least 19 years of age by December 31, 2010.
