Hey Allen,
Tough angle....and he gave you a great wing spread......so IMO.....you nailed it! I think you have a nice balance here of sharpness to falloff.....any higher on the f-stop and the BG may have started to look off.....very nicely done!

I like this, Allen - lots of colors and patterns with this species, and the unusual wing position is a big plus! Nice sharpness within your DOF and a pleasing background. Well done.

Hey Allan, a very different view then what we usually see. Very good details and BG. Well done.

I just love these guys! Maybe it's the red running through them - I just think they are extraordinarily marked.

Such a wonderful angle - it really captivates me as a viewer. I sense that I want a bit more sharpness on the eyes themselves but no one else has mentioned it so it might just be me. I like the eyeballs CRISP! Maybe that's because I have to wear bifocals? :p

Awesome image. Your patience is really paying off.

Unusual shot and nice composition it looks a little soft to me. Hand holding a 300mm plus 1.4 with a 1.6 crop isn't easy - sorry if I sound predictable but I would use a monopd at least or preferably a tripod.

This is a perspective that is not shown often and I really like it.

Great angle, Allen!
I would prefer a bit more DOF but this is still a fantastic shot!
