These are my old standbys, when nothing else is out. ID-IV, 800mmf5.6, 1/1600 second, f5.6, ISO500. RAW adjustments and sharpening in CS4. The BG is too busy.

Very nice capture of your Harrier Hal. I honestly don't think the back ground is too busy as it shows a good representation of the raptors hunting ground.

You've also done well in your flight capture technique considering the small field of focus for the 800.

Hope you don't mind but I d/l the shot and ran a few Smart Sharpen actions thought it and to me it comes up better, particulary the head.

Hi Hal, The wing position is great and the BKGR is loverly. The bird, however, is not anywhere near sharp; is this a very large crop?

I like the BG, Head angle and wing position but it's too bad that the bird is not sharp.

Great habitat depicted here (although I would eliminate the dark area in ULC). I like the wing-down pose too. As mentioned, the bird is soft as posted.

Still a great shot of a powerful Raptor!
