1D Mark IV, Canon 600 f4 IS, 1/2500, f7.1, iso 640, Miller Solo tripod, Miller Arrow 25 Fluid Head, waist deep water
Finally, after three weeks of failing attempts, this morning everything fell into place. The aggressive encounter lasted a few seconds but the Mark 4 delivered the goods....:)

Awesome action!
Is that a third Moorhen behind the one on the right? Must be the female eh? Great detail and there is so much going on here!

fantastic image Ofer, well worth the effort. I would clone out the beak of the thrid bird. It does no good and is a bit distracting :)

Thanks for your comments guys!
Jan, the beak is connected to the bird which has its wing stretched so I don't think it is such a great idea to clone it....:D

Very aggressive fighters they are. As we have a lot of them here in Florida during migrations, I have a few of these, even one with blood (but don't ask me toi find it in MY files :2eyes2:).
Certainly good positioning to capture this fight, sharp and detail.

Ofer, killer action shot. One foot in air, the other on the chest.....splashes..wings...sharpness...low angle. So many things to like here. Thx for sharing.

Hi Peter. Thank you for your efforts. However, removing the third bird changes the story. The story is of two birds fighting with a thinrd one. I can see what you are saying but still prefer to leave it as is. What an impressive PS work!!!

ur welcome. You are attached to image as the story unfolded for you. I am a neutral viewer as I did not see that. For me, the essential fight is between these two: if the third is part of the story, it should be as prominent in the image, or at least more than it is now.
We just have to agree to disagree...;)

Congrats on finally getting the image you were after. The interaction between the 2 birds looks great!

Great action captured. Low angle adds. Both are sharp and well exposed with great colours.
